Physics is the study of matter, energy, and the interaction between them.  It is a very broad field and we won't be able to cover everything in one class!  We will cover most of the topics you would find in a 1st semester college physics class.  Sometimes we will cover topics in great depth and dive deeply into the problem strategies involved in "doing physics" and at other times we will cover topics in more of a survey method to ensure exposure to most topics.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Classical Mechanics
    • Kinematics
    • Dynamics
    • Circular Motion & Gravity
  • Work & Energy
  • Linear & Rotational Momentum
  • Simple Harmonic Motion
  • Mechanical Waves & Sound
  • Electricity & Simple Circuits
  • Fluid Dynamics (time permitting)
  • Optics (time permitting)
